Kevin Smith Drops ‘Jay And Silent Bob Reboot’ Trailer To The Masses

Yesterday, Kevin Smith finally released the first trailer for Jay And Silent Bob Reboot. It’s a bit of a return to his New Jersey roots, but unfortunately it is a sequel to one of his one of his least popular films. Cop Out holds his record for least popular, sitting at 18% on Rotten Tomatoes.

“It’s a movie which makes fun of sequels and remakes and reboots while being all three at the same time.” – Kevin Smith

While I don’t have super high expectations, I have enjoyed all of Kevin’s movies up to Zach and Miri Make A Porno. Red State was also good, and a nice change of pace for him after how bad Cop Out was. But the two after that left very little to be desired. But no matter what i will always support my NJ brethren any way I can.

I gotta say, if Kevin does anything right, it’s putting together an all star cast. He’s managed to bring back a whole bunch of folks from his past movies including Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Shannon Elizabeth, Justin Long, Jason Lee, Craig Robinson, Joey Lauren Adams, and Rosario Dawson. And at the same time bringing in some new and big names like Grant Gustin, Joe Manganiello, Val Kilmer, Melissa Benoist, and Chris Hemsworth. And if you read that carefully you’ll see that means he has two Batmans in his movie. And it’s rumored confirmed that he has a third. Best guess is that it could be either Diedrich Bader who was in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and voiced Bruce Wayne in Batman: The Brave and the Bold or Kevin Conroy since he previously worked with Kevin Smith on Yoga Hosers.

Plot Synopsis:

The stoner icons who first hit the screen 25 years ago in CLERKS are back! When Jay and Silent Bob discover that Hollywood is rebooting an old movie based on them, the clueless duo embark on another cross-country mission to stop it all over again!

And here’s a pretty sweet looking fake poster for the movie within the movie Bluntman v Chronic, created by artist Mariano Diaz, who did concept art for Captain America: Civil War and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Jay And Silent Bob Reboot will have a limited run in 600 theaters on October 15, 2019. Then Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes will tour the film in select markets as part of The Jay and Silent Bob Reboot Roadshow, which will be starting in Chicago on October 21, 2019.
