MGM has released a new official trailer for Respect, the upcoming musician biopic of Aretha Franklin. Let’s take a look.
It looks pretty good. Jennifer Hudson will surely get nominated for her performance.
Personally, I probably won’t see this since I don’t really watch biopics on musicians. Pretty sure Rocketman is the only one I’ve seen. I did really enjoy that film though, so maybe I’d like Respect. I don’t know, I guess I’ll wait for the reviews to start coming out.
Plot Synopsis:
In Respect, we follow the rise of Aretha Franklin’s career from a child singing in her father’s church’s choir to her international superstardom in the remarkable true story of the music icon’s journey to find her voice.
Respect hits theaters August 13, 2021.
