One Choice: ’80s Buddy Cop Movies

Inspired by the popular online game that asks people to choose one movie from a group of four, One Choice… is pretty much the same game. Readers will be given four similar movies and asked to choose one. Now here’s the catch, the other three movies will be gone forever, wiped from your brain as if they never existed. Are you ready to theoretically live in a world where you have The Empire Strikes Back but not Star Wars or Return of the Jedi? What about the 1989 Batman movie but not Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight? The choice is yours, screenager, so choose wisely.

It’s ’80s month at ScreenAge Wasteland, so naturally, we’re going to be kicking off this new shenanigans series with some ’80s genre films. You all like buddy cop movies right?

Here are the 4 Movies:

48 Hrs. (1982)

Cast: Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte

Synopsis: A hard-nosed cop reluctantly teams up with a wise-cracking criminal temporarily paroled to him in order to track down a killer.

Beverly Hills Cop (1984)

Cast: Eddie Murphy, Judge Reinhold, and John Ashton.

Synopsis: A freewheeling Detroit cop pursuing a murder investigation finds himself dealing with the very different culture of Beverly Hills.

Running Scared (1986)

Lethal Weapon (1987)

So, will it be 48 Hrs., Beverly Hills Cop, Running Scared, or Lethal Weapon? It’s time to choose. What will be your One Choice?
