‘Pennyworth’ Season 2 Trailer: Before He Was Batman’s Butler, He Was Alfie

Epix has released an official teaser for the second season of Pennyworth, starring Jack Bannon as Batman’s butler back when he was a handsome young adult saving the world.

I haven’t seen season 1, but I wouldn’t mind watching this show. I actually think I’d watch it sooner if I knew it wasn’t connected to the Batman franchise. Season 2 will introduce DC Comics character Lucius Fox, played by Simon Manyonda. The show has slowly been incorporating characters from the greater Batman mythology. It’s only a matter of time before we’re introduced to young Jimmy Gordon, a hotshot teenager who wants to clean up his neighborhood!

Oh, and apparently, that’s Martha Wayne trying to kiss Alfred. So yeah, before Martha married Bruce’s dad, she had a thing for the butler. Rich people, I tell ya.

Show Premise:

Pennyworth explores the early life of the titular Wayne family butler, Alfred Pennyworth, a former British SAS soldier who is forming his own security company in an alternate London which combines aspects of London in the 1950s and 1960s with invented events and practices (for example, televised public executions). Alfred becomes a target of the Raven Society, a group conspiring to take over the British government, and begins working against them alongside American agents of the No Name League, Thomas Wayne and Martha Kane, the future parents of Bruce Wayne/Batman.

Pennyworth season 2 is set to premiere December 13, 2020 on Epix.
