“He may have been your father, boy. But he wasn’t your daddy.” Father’s Day is this Sunday and we thought it would be a perfect time to show thanks to some of the movie dads that had as much of an impact on our lives in the real world as they did on their movie family. Self-sacrifice, funny, integrity, loyal, protective and simply just being there are some words that describe some of the best dads and apply to these movies dads below.
Movie dads from all over the spectrum were listed here from an all-time classic dad in Atticus Finch to criminal alien Yondu. Funny dads like Mr. Levenstein and Goofy. Dads who are simply trying to navigate their way through their teenager daughter lives in Mac McGuff and Mark Day. Also, some dads that will straight up murder a fool for the kids like Bryan Mills and Captain Spaulding. Ok, that last dad will just murder people for any reason, but he is there for his family when they need him, dag gummit! Regardless of the kind of dad listed, none of them fully know what the hell they are doing, but they are trying their best for their kids. That’s all we can ask.
