‘Prey’ Trailer: A Refreshing Change of Pace for the ‘Predator’ Franchise

20th Century Studios has released an official teaser trailer for Prey, the upcoming fifth installment in the Predator franchise. Let’s take a look.

I’m all for a Predator film set hundreds of years before any other installment. The franchise hasn’t really known what to do with itself since the original ’80s classic. I think a prequel is exactly what this franchise needs to earn back some of its most loyal fans.

Plot Synopsis:

Set in the Comanche Nation 300 years ago, “Prey” is the story of a young woman, Naru, a fierce and highly skilled warrior. She has been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters who roam the Great Plains, so when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect her people. The prey she stalks, and ultimately confronts, turns out to be a highly evolved alien predator with a technically advanced arsenal, resulting in a vicious and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.

Prey begins streaming August 5, 2022 on Hulu.
