Bleecker Street has also landed the rights for This Is Spinal Tap, which has been newly restored and will be re-released in theaters over the summer. After returning to theaters, the ’80s classic will subsequently land on digital and streaming platforms for the first time in years.
Rob Reiner returned to direct Spinal Tap II, with Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, and Harry Shearer reprising their roles as members of “one of England’s loudest bands.” Reiner also reprises his role as Marty DiBergi, the documentarian who follows them on tour.
