The DC Universe has just dated its first 2027 movie.
DC Studios head James Gunn has announced on social media that the feature-length follow-up to Superman will be titled Man of Tomorrow and arrive in theaters on July 9, 2027. The filmmaker also shared some concept art by Jim Lee that confirmed the movie’s two leads: David Corenswet‘s Superman and Nicholas Hoult‘s Lex Luthor.
Corenswet and Hoult subsequently shared different pieces of concept art featuring Superman and Luthor, with the latter wearing his iconic green and purple warsuit in all. While Gunn has repeatedly stated that he doesn’t view Man of Tomorrow as a proper sequel to Superman, the upcoming movie will serve as the next installment in his “Superman Saga.”
Gunn confirming Man of Tomorrow comes as the third DCU movie, Clayface, kicked off production earlier this week. As for the second DCU movie, Supergirl arrives in theaters in June 2026. The DCU is truly alive and thriving now!
