The Ghost Story Continues in ‘Altered Carbon’ Season 2 Trailer (Updated with Full Trailer)

Netflix has finally released the new Altered Carbon season 2 trailer and this time around Anthony Mackie is Takeshi Kovacs.

This was the teaser from last week:

Here’s the full trailer released yesterday:

The cyberpunk series takes place 350+ years in the future. To cheat death, humans have been turned into storage devices. Their consciousnesses can be transferred from body to body. Otherwise known as “sleeves”. Based on the novels by Richard K. Morgan, I believe this season will be based on Broken Angels.

I liked season 1 of the show, so I’m glad to have an new season airing soon. And I like the idea of recasting Takeshi Kovacs each time too. It makes it more of an anthology series, yet keeps it all tied together. Morgan has said that the show is aiming for a run of five seasons. This suggests that more books might be on the way, since there’s only three available so far.

Lets just hope he doesn’t pull a George R.R. Martin and forces them to make shit up before he finishes the books.

Plot Synopsis:

“Season 2 of the sophisticated and compelling sci-fi drama finds Takeshi Kovacs (Anthony Mackie), the lone surviving soldier of a group of elite interstellar warriors, continuing his centuries-old quest to find his lost love Quellcrist Falconer (Renée Elise Goldsberry). After decades of planet-hopping and searching the galaxy, Kovacs finds himself recruited back to his home planet of Harlan’s World with the promise of finding Quell. Haunted by his past and responsible for investigating a series of brutal murders, Kovacs is stunned to discover his new mission to solve the crime and his pursuit to find Quell are one and the same. With the help of his loyal A.I. Poe (Chris Conner), Kovacs must now partner with new allies to outwit his enemies and find the truth: Who is Quellcrist Falconer?”

All eight episodes of Altered Carbon season 2 airs on Netflix February 27, 2020.
