‘The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers’ Teaser: Gordon Bombay is Back to Coach a New Generation

Disney+ has released an official teaser and date announcement for The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers. For fans of the original trilogy, this will surely be at the top of their watchlist in March.

I have not watched a single Mighty Ducks film, but that may change in March. I have always been more receptive of legacyquels than other folks around the Wasteland. I don’t mind picking up with characters decades later and seeing how they’ve changed.

I love the idea of the Mighty Ducks becoming the very thing they set out not to be. What will Estevez’s Gordon Bombay think of that? I find that stuff interesting. It’s like shutting off your TV and turning it back on twenty years later. You may have stopped watching, but the show kept on going without you.

Plot Synopsis:

In the 10-episode season set in present day Minnesota, the Mighty Ducks have evolved from scrappy underdogs to an ultra-competitive, powerhouse youth hockey team. After 12-year-old Evan Morrow (Brady Noon) is unceremoniously cut from the Ducks, he and his mom, Alex (Lauren Graham), set out to build their own team of misfits to challenge the cutthroat, win-at-all-costs culture of youth sports today. With the help of Gordon Bombay, they rediscover the joys of playing just for love of the game.

The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers premieres March 26, 2021 on Disney+.
