MGM has released an official trailer for Three Thousand Years of Longing. The dark fantasy film serves as director George Miller‘s follow-up to 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road. Let’s take a look.

Tilda Swinton and Idris Elba together in a movie by Miller? Um, yes, please! I didn’t even know this movie was a thing until MGM dropped the trailer. Who’s been hiding this film from us this whole time? I need answers!

Plot Synopsis:

A scholar, content with life, encounters a Djinn who offers her three wishes in exchange for his freedom. Their conversation, in a hotel room in Istanbul, leads to consequences neither would have expected.

Three Thousand Years of Longing opens in theaters on August 31, 2022.
