‘tick, tick…BOOM!’ Trailer: The Fuse Has Been Lit

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Netflix has released an official teaser trailer for tick, tick…BOOM!, an autobiographical musical based on the life of Jonathan Larsons, the composer and playwright behind Rent.

It looks like it could be a good watch. Andrew Garfield has talent and I’m interested in seeing how Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton) makes out in his feature directorial debut. I still have never seen Rent, but I’ve heard it’s great, so why shouldn’t a musical biopic on the creator also be amazing!

Plot Synopsis:

The film follows Jon (Academy Award nominee and Tony Award winner Andrew Garfield), a young theater composer who’s waiting tables at a New York City diner in 1990 while writing what he hopes will be the next great American musical. With the clock ticking, Jon is at a crossroads and faces the question everyone must reckon with: What are we meant to do with the time we have?

tick, tick…BOOM! will begin streaming on Netflix in the fall of 2021.
