Tick Tock ‘Watchmen’ Gets Official Teaser Trailer

HBO has just released the first Watchmen teaser trailer for the new series, created by Damon Lindelof based on Alan Moore‘s critically acclaimed graphic novel.

Just an FYI, this is not just a remake of Moore‘s work, this is a wholly original story that uses the world of Watchmen as a jump-off and appears to keep the original continuity set in an alternate history where the U.S. not only won the Vietnam War, it made the country the official 51st state.

I’m totally down for this show. I liked the movie well enough even though I kinda thought the graphic novel was a trudge to get through. I read it way after it initially came out and too many people hyped it up for me I guess. That being said, this show looks pretty damn good.

Plot Synopsis:

Set in an alternate history where “superheroes” are treated as outlaws, this drama series from executive producer Damon Lindelof embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel of the same name while attempting to break new ground of its own. The cast includes: Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson, Jean Smart, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Andrew Howard, Tom Mison, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Sara Vickers and Dylan Schombing.
