TV and Movies to Stream | November 2025

Reading Time: 4 minutes

Sadly Screenagers, Bob-tober/spooky season has come to an end. However, as much of this list reflects, there’s still some fun spooky stuff on streaming, and I couldn’t bring myself to completely let it all go just yet.

Also, you may notice that for the first time, our Movies and TV to stream lists have been combined into a single list! I’m still going to stick with the typical five recommendations, but I’d love any thoughts on anything that could make this list better as you’re looking for things to stream.

Prime Video: The Girlfriend (2025)

This show is a twisty little nightmare. Starring Robin Wright, The Girlfriend follows millionaire Laura Sanderson as her son gets into a serious relationship for the first time. His girlfriend, a middle-class nobody named Cherry, immediately butts heads with Laura, and from there it gets unhinged. While this show is definitely not going to win awards for its writing or acting, it gave me exactly what I wanted out of a thriller mini-series. The plot is full of twists and turns, the character choices are ridiculous and the stakes get raised every episode in ways that are over the top and endlessly fun to watch. With only 6 episodes, it’s very easy to get invested.

FOR FANS OF: The Undoing; Dead to Me

HBO Max: Flow (2024)

If you check out anything on this list, it should be Flow. Winner of Best Animated Film of 2024, Flow is a well-crafted heartwarming story about a cat navigating a flooded landscape. Despite having no dialogue and a pretty simple premise, this movie absolutely blew me away when I saw it. It’s breathtakingly beautiful, and the way the animals are animated is both life-like while still having the charm and wit of a movie from Disney or its counterparts. This is absolutely my most recommended without any sort of reservation. It has something for everyone, and it’s a great cozy movie to put on when you aren’t sure what to watch.

FOR FANS OF: The Wild Robot; Isle of Dogs

Hulu: I’m A Virgo (2023)

I’ve been a huge fan of Boots Riley ever since I watched Sorry To Bother You and it absolutely blew my mind. Somehow though, I completely missed his newest project. I’m a Virgo follows Cootie, a 14-foot tall black man trying to navigate life and culture in modern day Oakland. The show is surreal in the way Riley is known for, but I found Cootie so deeply relatable and the writing is still on point as ever. It’s a trippy good time that really packs a punch with its strong themes and great characters. This one is a good pick for everyone, and since it only has one season, you have plenty of time to go watch it before Riley’s new film drops in May 2026.

FOR FANS OF: Beef; Swarm

AMC+: The Ugly Stepsister (2025)

I have to add something for my fellow sickos on this list. It took me a long time to get to this one, but The Ugly Stepsister is worth watching for any horror fan. Following in the footsteps of Cronenberg and Fargeat, The Ugly Stepsister is a Cinderella retelling that’s much more akin to Aschenputtel (the Brothers Grimm version). The story, while mostly unchanged, focuses closely on stepsister Elvira, as she undergoes increasingly violent and grotesque procedures to win the Prince’s affection. Now, I watched The Substance pretty much without flinching, but The Ugly Stepsister had me squirming. The body horror is particularly visceral, and the combination of both the life-like gore and sound design makes it stomach-turning. It’s surprisingly gripping though, and I ultimately think it joins the ranks of really solid body horror. Go give this one a watch if you can stomach it.

FOR FANS OF: The Substance; The Fly

HBO Max: It: Welcome To Derry (2025 – present)

I went into this one with zero expectations, and it’s honestly a great time. Based loosely on the Stephen King novel, It: Welcome To Derry is a direct prequel of Andy Muschietti’s 2017 and 2019 movies. The show is set in 1962, 26 years before the events in the films and detailing the previous cycle of It’s presence in Derry, Maine. All the wacky scares from the movies are here, and there’s so much creativity with the ways It is presented that at the time of me writing this, Pennywise the Dancing Clown has yet to make an appearance. The show is also set to expand the universe, including The Shining’s Dick Halloran in the central cast. I was excited by the first two episodes and I can’t wait to keep watching.

FOR FANS OF: Castle Rock; Stranger Things
