Veronica Mars is getting its long awaited fourth season on Hulu and the now adult Mars is upping the mystery cracking game when the stakes get taken up…just a notch.
Featuring a plethora of returning cast members, the town of Neptune gets an unwelcome addition (and by unwelcome, I mean totally welcome) in legendary JK Simmons. Enjoy!
While I have to confess to not having really caught much of Veronica Mars in its heyday, I’m of the opinion that Kristen Bell and Enrico Colantoni are some of the finest actors on television; Bell being a damned chameleon in her choice of roles over the years and Colantoni bringing an interesting gravitas that belies his Just Shoot Me! days. His addition to the criminally under-referenced time travel caper Travellers is a portrait of quiet, unassuming evil while Bell is completely magnetic in just about all her parts, from The Good Place to her huge range of high profile voice roles including Anna from Frozen.
But I have to admit I first started paying attention to her in her cameos, from her brutal exit from Deadwood to the hilariously over-achieving party planning supervisor in Party Down.
Bell will reunite in season 4 of Veronica Mars with fellow Good Place alum Kirby Howell-Baptiste while perennial funny-guy Patton Oswalt also looks to have a lead in the show.
Hey, I’m down for some retro TV catch-up if there’s some fresh Veronica Mars heading this way, especially with that cast.
