WHAT I WATCHED THIS WEEK
The Rise of the Red Hot Chili Peppers: Our Brother, Hillel (2026) – I honestly haven’t given a shit about RHCP since like 1992. After Blood Sugar Sex Magik nothing hit me the same way that, that or Mother’s Milk did. This doc was a pretty solid deep dive into their early years and I dug it. It was actually informative about their lives and some other artists around them. All in all it does a great job focusing on the band’s formative years, and on the influence of original guitarist Hillel Slovak who died in 1988 of a drug overdose. 4/5
