MOVIES WATCHED THIS WEEK

Riot on the Dancefloor (2014) – A documentary about a music venue in Trenton, NJ that was open in the 70s – early 2000s. The guy booking the gigs created one of the best venues and music scenes for new wave, punk and metal that other places wouldn’t do. He had a genuine appreciation for the scenes and did all he could to help small bands along the way. Great interviews with some really interesting stories. It even tells the background story of a Beastie Boys sample used on Check Your Head that really surprised me. 4/5

Godzilla vs Kong (2021) – Overall I enjoyed this epic confrontation of two giant beasts. It was exactly what I expected it to be. I won’t say more than that to keep rom spoiling things here. 3.75/5

Kingdom of Heaven (2005) – Not my favorite Ridley Scott film I’ve seen, that’s for sure. But it was pretty solid overall. I obviously don’t know much about Jerusalem or it’s history because I was a bit confused in parts. But it all came together for me in the end. 3/5
