WHAT I WATCHED THIS WEEK
Black Site (2022) – My wife put this on as a no brainer mid week. Holy fuck was it bad. I thought Thirteen Ghosts was bad when I watched it a couple of weekends ago (it was) but this is worse. Well maybe not. At least this was a straight to Redbox film and not actually in theaters. The cast should have made it better, but the first time director didn’t help things. 1/5
The Kid Stays in the Picture (2002) – Matthew Goode’s performance as Robert Evans in The Offer Got me really interested in the guy. He was just so charismatic. I needed to know more about him. This doc is really just him talking over old photos and some home movies, but god damn is it interesting. 4.5/5
Inherit the Wind (1960) – I’d never heard of this film and my wife was like, “didn’t you learn about it in high school?” Nope. But it’s a fictionalized version of the Scopes “Monkey” Trial with an absolutely stacked cast. As we started watching it I made a comment on my thoughts of the trial and it basically turned out to be the whole defense argument. Maybe I subliminally knew about the film all along. 4/5
