WHAT I WATCHED THIS WEEK
This week’s been a busy one, so basically I didn’t really care to watch much at the end of the day. But my wife put the Divergent movies on since they were leaving Netflix. I wasn’t even sure I saw the third one when it came out. I had, it’s just forgettable.
Divergent (2014) – It’s a mediocre YA novel turned movie that lacks any originality. It reeks of stolen ideas and concepts from other (better) movies. 3.25/5
Insurgent (2015) – They shit out a sequel as fast as possible on this one and it shows. Everything about it is convoluted. But I guess that makes sense from a first time novel writer being successful and tries to pull a Hunger Games. 3/5
Allegiant (2016) – I just don’t think Shailene Woodley is a strong enough actress to lead a series like this. And of course they tried to split the last novel into two movies and this one shit the bed so bad that fourth film never happened. 3/5
