Roku has released an official teaser trailer for Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. The upcoming biopic sees Daniel Radcliffe inhabit the frizzy-haired, mustachioed persona of “Weird Al” Yankovic. Let’s take a look.
Okay, this looks very entertaining. Also, Funny or Die is apparently producing this(?!) which may explain why the film has the exact same title as an old Funny or Die fake trailer for a “Weird Al” biopic. I guess all things come full circle eventually.
Weird stars Radcliffe, Evan Rachel Wood as Madonna, Rainn Wilson as radio broadcaster Dr. Demento, and Julianne Nicholson and Toby Huss as Yankovic’s parents, Mary and Nick.
Plot Synopsis:
The Al Yankovic Story holds nothing back and is a journey through Yankovic’s life and career, from gifted child prodigy to the greatest musical legend of all time. The film explores all facets of Yankovic’s life, from his meteoric rise to fame with early hits like ‘Eat It’ and ‘Like a Surgeon’ to his torrid celebrity love affairs and famously depraved lifestyle.
Weird: The Al Yankovic Story will stream on Roku sometime in Fall 2022.
