Screen Media Films has released an official trailer for Willy’s Wonderland. Nic Cage stars in this Five Nights at Freddy’s rip-off (or is it an homage?). It looks as crazy as one should expect a new Cage film to look. Let’s give ourselves a glimpse at the madness below.
Alright, before I can even comment on what I just saw I have to point out that Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment is behind this film. Remember when those were just wholesome books filled with true stories that warmed your heart? Well, flash forward twenty-thirty years and now they’re making Nic Cage movies. We are truly living in strange times.
I’ve never played Five Nights at Freddy’s, but everyone is blabbing that this film looks pretty similar to the video game. Eh, I don’t really care. Five Nights at Freddy’s is missing one key component: Nic Cage. This man makes every project he signs on for 100x better. I’d love to see him dive back into more serious work (i.e., dramatic awards contenders), but I’ll take what I can get.
