Dwayne Johnson is the hardest working man in Hollywood. The man has built his name into a powerful brand (still waiting for your tequila to come to Canada, Rock). Johnson will jump between TV and film like the flip of the switch. For one of the highest grossing actors, you don’t really see that level of commitment to the small screen.
But Johnson has a good partnership with NBC and that has led to the first trailer for the upcoming series Young Rock. When it was first announced, it was stated to explore Johnson’s upbringing in the ’80s and ’90s. But now we see that it will also head to an imagined 2032 where Johnson is running for President of the United States.
I’m a fan of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, so I will definitely be giving this series a chance. One has to imagine if the show is successful (I’d be shocked if it wasn’t) that future seasons might even focus on Johnson winning the presidency and his first term in office. Heck, maybe we’ll even see the series cover his early wrestling and acting career.
Plot Synopsis:
Young Rock premieres February 16, 2021 on NBC.
