I’ve never been very into lists. Even less so if they’re ranked. I’m fine listening to or reading other people’s lists. I’m just not that into making them myself. So when the call went out to make this list, I was less than enthusiastic about it.
For one thing, tastes change.
I’m not the same person I was 5 years ago, much less 30 or 50. My tastes even change from day to day, often at the whim of whatever mood I’m in. Mostly, these days what I like to watch reflects a desire for more fun, less heaviness. And I guess this list is representative of that.
At the end of the day, this list wasn’t so hard to make as much as it was hard to rank. I moved a few movies in and out a few times, but I jacked with the rankings again and again until the law of diminishing returns set in.
And at some point, you just gotta say “What the f*ck.”
