A24’s ‘In Fabric’ Trailer Gives Us the Next Horror Icon, a Dress?

Just when you thought it was safe to go shopping at the department store again. We have been terrorized by haunted houses, hotels, dolls, cars and now A24 gives us pause to try on that cute outfit for a night on the town.

Peter Strickland’sIn Fabric‘, that premiered last September at the Toronto International Film Festival, is a horror film set during a department store’s winter sale where a couple of unlucky customers have their lives turned upside down by a cursed scarlet dress.

Plot Synopsis:

Lonely woman, played my Marianne Jean-Baptiste, visits a London department store where she is fitted with a perfect, dark red gown that unleashes a malevolent curse and unstoppable evil, threatening everyone that comes into its path.

As ridiculous as the premise may be, I mean it’s a haunted dress, the trailer is pretty solid and looks to be well done. I’m all for supporting original horror, but I am on the fence about this one as of now.

What do you guys think? Ready to be terrified by some pretty red fabric?
