‘Bliss’ Trailer: Owen Wilson & Salma Hayek Are Living in a Computer Simulation

Prime Video has released an official trailer for Bliss. The upcoming science-fiction film stars Owen Wilson as a man who is shown by a scientist (Salma Hayek) that his world is really a computer simulation. Is it like The Matrix? I don’t know. Find out for yourself by watching the trailer below.

I know Wilson is well-known for his comedic roles in films like Meet the Parents and Wedding Crashers, but I honestly think I’m more interested in him when he’s doing dramas. Midnight in Paris featured a great performance from the man behind the “Wow”, and Bliss looks to be replicating that dramatic sweet spot that Wilson is able to effortlessly create.

Side note: so is Bill Nye (the Science Guy) like a full-time actor now? He popped up in last year’s Mank and now it looks like he’s going to have a supporting role in Bliss. I actually don’t mind Nye’s acting. He is certainly not as bad as some former TV personalities who have tried to make the leap to acting.

Plot Synopsis:

Bliss is a mind-bending love story following Greg (Owen Wilson) who, after recently being divorced and then fired, meets the mysterious Isabel (Salma Hayek), a woman living on the streets and convinced that the polluted, broken world around them is nothing but a computer simulation. Doubtful at first, Greg eventually discovers there may be some truth to Isabel’s wild conspiracy.

Bliss begins streaming on February 5, 2021 on Prime Video.
