==============================================================

In other puppetry news, Netflix have released new images from their upcoming Jim Henson Company-produced series, Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.

According to Variety, the series will be a prequel to the beloved 1982 fantasy film The Dark Crystal, Age of Resistance will describe a time “where three Gelflings – voiced by Taron Egerton (Kingsman, Rocketman), Anya Taylor-Joy (Glass, The New Mutants) and Nathalie Emmanuel (Fast & Furious 8, Game of Thrones) – discover the horrifying secret behind the Skeksis’ power, and set out to ignite the fires of rebellion and save their world.”

Here’s a teaser to get yourself all caught up:

There’s a lot of love obviously going into this show; referencing the late Jim Henson, creator of the first epic, show helmer Louis Leterrier spoke about the project at last year’s New York Comic-Con:

“We’ve been developing this project for seven years and then we eventually found exciting partners in Netflix. And we realised that the canvas was so massive. Like Jim Henson [says], it was his biggest, hardest task and his greatest achievement.”

The series is executive produced by Leterrier, Lisa Henson, and Halle Stanford, with co-executive producers Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews, Javier Grillo-Marxuach, and Blanca Lista.

The brand new photos look promising as well:

Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance will launch on Friday, August 30 2019.
