‘Disenchanted’ Trailer: Happily Never Ever | D23 Expo 2022

Disney has released an official trailer for Disenchanted, the long-awaited sequel to 2007’s Enchanted, at the D23 Expo 2022. Let’s take a look!

I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, I’m digging the decision to make Amy Adams the “villain” in this film since she’s now a stepmother (why do they always have to be so evil?), but on the other, this just doesn’t look too good. Hmm. Luckily, it’s on Disney+ so I’ll be watching it no matter what!

Oh, and a big props to whichever casting director discovered Gabriella Baldacchino because I would have never guessed she wasn’t the same actor that played Morgan Philip in the first film.

The rest of the Disenchanted cast includes Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, Maya Rudolph, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jayma Mays, Idina Menzel, and James Marsden.

Plot Synopsis:

It has been 15 years since Giselle (Amy Adams) and Robert (Patrick Dempsey) wed, but Giselle has grown disillusioned with life in the city, so they move their growing family to the sleepy suburban community of Monroeville in search of a more fairy tale life. Unfortunately, it isn’t the quick fix she had hoped for. Suburbia has a whole new set of rules and a local queen bee, Malvina Monroe (Maya Rudolph), who makes Giselle feel more out of place than ever. Frustrated that her happily ever after hasn’t been so easy to find, she turns to the magic of Andalasia for help, accidentally transforming the entire town into a real-life fairy tale and placing her family’s future happiness in jeopardy. Now, Giselle is in a race against time to reverse the spell and determine what happily ever after truly means to her and her family.

Disenchanted begins streaming on November 24, 2022 on Disney+.
