‘Extraction 3’: Chris Hemsworth Returning for Netflix Action Threequel

Fans haven’t seen the last of Chris Hemsworth‘s Australian mercenary, Tyler Rake.

Per Variety, the actor announced that Extraction 3 was in early development during Netflix‘s Tudum event last Saturday. The news came just one day after Extraction 2 debuted on the streaming service. Sam Hargrave, who directed both of the Extraction films, was also on hand for the announcement and is expected to return for the threequel.

Extraction is one of Netflix’s most popular franchises, with the first film, at one point, the most-watched original film premiere in the streamer’s history. Extraction 2‘s ending did suggest that there was more story to be told and now that has been confirmed. No word yet on when fans might be seeing Extraction 3, but if it follows the same production schedule as the first sequel it may be around three years.

Extraction and Extraction 2 are both available to stream on Netflix.
