A couple of upcoming Disney+ projects just dropped their first look images.
First up, Marvel Studios released the first official image from Echo (seen above), the upcoming Hawkeye spinoff that is set to star Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez, to mark the start of production on the series in Atlanta.
The main cast for Echo was also confirmed. Joining Cox will be Chaske Spencer (Wild Indian), Tantoo Cardinal (Killers of the Flower Moon), Devery Jacobs (Reservation Dogs), Cody Lightning (Four Sheets to the Wind), Graham Greene (1883), and Zahn McClarnon (Reservation Dogs).
Echo will serve as an original story for Maya Lopez, “whose ruthless behavior in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward.” The series is expected to premiere in 2023 on Disney+.
Meanwhile, Disney+ has shared the first look at Amy Adams and Maya Rudolph in Disenchanted, the long-awaited sequel to 2007’s Enchanted.
The upcoming sequel will be set ten years after Enchanted and begin with Giselle, Robert, and Morgan moving to a new house in the suburb of Monroeville, “a community overseen by Malvina Monroe, who has nefarious intentions for the family. When problems arise, Giselle wishes that their lives were the perfect fairy tale. The spell backfires, with Giselle rushing to save her family and her homeland of the Kingdom of Andalasia before the clock strikes midnight.”
Disenchanted is expected to premiere on Disney+ this Thanksgiving.
