George Clooney Directs Ben Affleck in ‘The Tender Bar’ Trailer

Prime Video has released an official trailer for The Tender Bar, an adaptation of Pulitzer Prize winner J.R. Moehringer’s bestselling memoir of the same name. It will be George Clooney‘s directorial follow-up to The Midnight Sky. Let’s take a look.

This looks amazing. I love watching films that have writers as its main characters. The fact that this is a true story will make this a must watch for me as soon as it hits Prime Video.

Ben Affleck and Tye Sheridan lead a cast that includes Christopher Lloyd, Lily Rabe, Max Martini, and Daniel Ranieri.

Plot Synopsis:

“The Tender Bar tells the story of J.R. (Sheridan), a fatherless boy growing up in the glow of a bar where the bartender, his Uncle Charlie (Affleck), is the sharpest and most colorful of an assortment of quirky and demonstrative father figures. As the boy’s determined mother (Rabe) struggles to provide her son with opportunities denied to her — and leave the dilapidated home of her outrageous if begrudgingly supportive father (Christopher Lloyd) — J.R. begins to gamely, if not always gracefully, pursue his romantic and professional dreams — with one foot persistently placed in Uncle Charlie’s bar. The Tender Bar is based on the best-selling memoir of the same name by J.R. Moehringer.”

The Tender Bar hits limited theaters on December 17, 2021. It begins streaming January 7, 2022 on Prime Video.
