Hayley Atwell Confirmed for ‘Mission: Impossible’ Sequels

It looks like after working for S.H.I.E.L.D., Peggy Carter joined the Impossible Mission Force.

Hayley Atwell has confirmed on her Instagram that she has joined the cast for the next two installments in the Mission: Impossible franchise. She joins returning cast members Tom Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, and Ving Rhames. Fingers crossed Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton, and Maggie Q find their way back to the seventh and eighth films as well.

Although playing Agent Peggy Carter in a variety of properties throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be Atwell’s most well-known role, she has been branching out in recent years. She had a starring role in ABC’s Conviction, and appeared in Disney’s Christopher Robin. She will next be seen in Netflix’s upcoming drama series Criminal: UK.

I’m definitely a fan of Atwell’s, so I look forward to seeing her act opposite Cruise and Ferguson. However, it’s not clear yet whose side she will be on. Maybe she was August Walker’s (Henry Cavill) wife? The possibilities are endless.

Christopher McQuarrie has signed on to write and direct the next two installments which will be hitting theaters on July 23, 2021 and August 5, 2022.
