‘Indiana Jones 5’ Adds Phoebe Waller-Bridge in Major Role

Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag) is reportedly set to star opposite Harrison Ford in the highly anticipated fifth Indiana Jones feature film.

Disney confirmed the casting news, with production on the film set to begin later this summer. In a statement, Indiana Jones 5 director James Mangold said:

“I’m thrilled to be starting a new adventure, collaborating with a dream team of all-time great filmmakers. Steven, Harrison, Kathy, Frank, and John are all artistic heroes of mine. When you add Phoebe, a dazzling actor, brilliant creative voice and the chemistry she will undoubtedly bring to our set, I can’t help but feel as lucky as Indiana Jones himself.”

In addition, John Williams will also confirmed to be returning as composer on the franchise. Steven Spielberg will executive-produce along with Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall.

There have been no details released yet on the plot of the fifth film nor do we know if there will be anymore returning characters besides Indiana Jones himself. Lucasfilm is reportedly meeting with additional talent as we write.

If all goes according to plan, Indiana Jones 5 hits theaters July 29, 2022.

What do you think of Waller-Bridge being cast as the female lead opposite Harrison Ford? Who do you think she will be playing?
