‘Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous’ Trailer: Welcome to Summer Camp on Isla Nublar

Netflix recently released the official trailer for Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, a spin-off children’s series set during the events of Jurassic World, from Dreamworks Animation.

Honestly, this doesn’t look too bad. There’s only going to be like eight episodes of this series, and considering what happens after Jurassic World it’s unlikely there will be a second season. A one-and-done story is something I can get behind.

The only issue I’m seeing is that, since this is a show for younger audiences, I doubt there will be much blood. Netflix and Dreamworks Animation aren’t about to kill off a bunch of teenagers. That’s not the Jurassic way. So will the series still have the same stakes? I guess we’ll find out if we choose to watch it.

Plot Synopsis:

Set against the timeline of the blockbuster film Jurassic World, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous follows a group of six teenagers trapped at a new adventure camp on the opposite side of Isla Nublar. When the events of the film unfold and dinosaurs are unleashed across the island, each kid realizes their very survival rests on the shoulders of themselves and their fellow campers. Unable to reach the outside world, our six teens will go from strangers to friends to family as they band together to survive the dinosaurs and uncover hidden secrets so deep they threaten the world itself.

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous begins streaming September 18, 2020 on Netflix.
