Deadline reports that Kiernan Shipka of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has joined Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans in Amazon Prime’s holiday event film Red One. Alas, Star Wars fans this isn’t a film about Garven Dreis (talk about obscure name dropping) or Wedge Antilles. I saw the title and though the same thing.
Jake Kasdan is set to direct and produce a script by Chris Morgan. Kasdan has directing credits for the rebooted Jumani franchise and Morgan has worked on numerous Fast & Furious films (I stopped counting). Details of the film are in a Kevin Fiege-like vault, but “the project is billed as a globe-trotting, four-quadrant action-adventure comedy imagining a whole new universe to explore within the holiday genre”. What does that even mean? I suppose I’ll get excited when Kevin Hart and Vin Diesel are announced.
