From Dan Berk and Robert Olsen, comes a darkly comedic thriller starring the new IT’s Pennywise, Bill Skarsgård, and Maika Monroe (The Guest, It Follows) called Villains. The film premiered this years SXSW Film Festival and was acquired by Gunpowder & Sky with the film being released under the horror brand ALTER.
This looks like it could be a good time with some out of nowhere craziness and some fun performances, mainly from Jeffrey Donovan. I definitely got some 1991’s The People Under the Stairs inspirations but I’m looking forward to this based on the tone and the cast.
Plot Synopsis:
Mickey and Jules are lovers on the run, headed southbound for a fresh start in the Sunshine State. When their car dies after a gas station robbery, they break into a nearby house looking for a new set of wheels. What they find instead is a dark secret and a sweet-as-pie pair of homeowners (Jeffrey Donovan, Kyra Sedgwick) who will do anything to keep it from getting out.
