‘Minari’ Trailer: Steven Yeun Searches for the American Dream

A24 has released an official trailer for Minari, an upcoming film starring Steven Yeun. It had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year where it took home both the U.S. Dramatic Grand Jury Prize and the U.S. Dramatic Audience Award. So yeah, this is an Oscars contender.

Yeun was my favorite actor on The Walking Dead, and since his departure I’ve been following his career. Mayhem proved he had leading man potential, and Minari shows he’s got the dramatic chops to take any project that comes across his desk. I’ll definitely be checking this one out.

Oh, and he’s also who I think DC should cast to play Nightwing in the DCEU. I could definitely see Yeun embodying a Dick Grayson that has years of built up hatred for Ben Affleck’s Batman. Now tell me you wouldn’t want to see that.

Plot Synopsis:

A tender and sweeping story about what roots us, Minari follows a Korean-American family that moves to a tiny Arkansas farm in search of their own American Dream. The family home changes completely with the arrival of their sly, foul-mouthed, but incredibly loving grandmother. Amidst the instability and challenges of this new life in the rugged Ozarks, Minari shows the undeniable resilience of family and what really makes a home.

Minari currently does not have a release date. We’ll keep you posted.
