20th Century Studios has released a new trailer for Free Guy. Let’s take a look.
This looks like a lot of fun. Ryan Reynolds has been on a bit of a hot streak since 2016’s Deadpool, and Free Guy certainly looks like it will continue that streak. I’m digging the premise of a NPC gaining sentience and striving to break the very confines of the video game that is holding him captive.
I don’t really understand how Guy suddenly becomes a playable character and can interact with actual humans, but I’m going to hold off on judging that plot point until I’ve actually seen the film.
Plot Synopsis:
In “Free Guy,” a bank teller who discovers he is actually a background player in an open-world video game, decides to become the hero of his own story…one he rewrites himself. Now in a world where there are no limits, he is determined to be the guy who saves his world his way…before it is too late.
Free Guy hits theaters (as of right now) on December 11, 2020.
