Movies to Stream | July 2025

Reading Time: 3 minutes

We’re over halfway done with 2025, which is incredibly hard to believe. Unfortunately, I haven’t been as up to date on the current year in cinema as I’d like to be (this tends to be a trend for me).

So for this month’s edition of movies to stream, I wanted to highlight some films from this year still on my watchlist that have already hit various streaming services for viewing.

Netflix: One of Them Days (2025)

One of Them Days has been on my 2025 watchlist about as long as any other movie from this year. An easy, breezy buddy comedy is always welcomed – especially when it features two leads with impeccable chemistry. Keke Palmer is a certified star who doesn’t get the love she deserves as one, and I can only imagine SZA has the necessary charisma to hold her own as a screen presence. I don’t know much else about the film beyond that, but believe it or not, that’s more than enough to sell me on watching.

FOR FANS OF: Plan B; Game NightBridesmaids

Jon Bernthal and Ben Affleck in The Accountant 2.

Prime Video: The Accountant 2 (2025)

There’s always space for low stakes action movies. Comically villainous bad guys getting what they deserve in the form of butt kickings is always welcomed. I haven’t seen the original The Account so I’m not quite sure what to expect, but I can’t imagine it’s anything terribly inventive about it or its sequel. But like most movie fans, I enjoy when Jon Bernthal shows up in stuff, and Ben Affleck has moments. Watching the two of them shoot down baddies isn’t the worst way to spend 2 hours.

FOR FANS OF: Equalizer 2; Beekeeper; The Hitman’s Bodyguard

Max: Mountainhead (2025)

Succession is easily one of my favorite TV shows, so I obviously have to check out the follow up project from the show’s creator, Jesse Armstrong. The themes of the movie might be a little too topical and slightly too close to Succession‘s for comfort. However, Armstrong’s ability to write snappy, witty dialogue is second to none and the cast is filled with stellar familiar faces. If that’s not a recipe for something worth checking out, I’m not quite sure what is.

FOR FANS OF: Don’t Look UpThe Circle; Downsizing

Disney Plus: Snow White (2025)

I’m unfortunately as intrigued by movies that look to be absolute dog crap as I am movies that I have high expectations for. My expectations for the live action version of Snow White are about as low as they can be. However, I’m terribly intrigued to see just how bad it can be. Sometimes we can learn just as much from a bad movie about what to avoid as we can learn from a great movie about what to strive for. I’m curious to know just how many lessons we can learn from Snow White.

FOR FANS OF: Beauty and the Beast; The Little MermaidDisenchanted

Peacock: The Woman in the Yard (2025)

I scare easily. Like, really easily. However, I still enjoy the occasional spooky movie. The horror genre allows for forms of creative expression not permissible in other genres. It’s hard to tell how inventive or creatively bold The Woman in the Yard actually is. But it does look creepy as hell and visually engaging, which is certainly a plus. I’ll probably have to watch during the day to avoid nighttime terrors. A risk I’m more than willing to take for a (hopefully) worthwhile fresh new horror flick.

FOR FANS OF: The Babadook; Hereditary; The Conjuring
