New ‘Onward’ Trailer Finally Shows Some Pixar Heart

Pixar has just released the new Onward trailer, and it actually is showcasing some classic Pixar heart and charm.

Okay, this was a huge improvement over the initial teaser and first trailer that Pixar released earlier this year.

I’m still not entirely sold on this premise. I think Pixar is at its best when it focuses on heartfelt issues that are on a realistic spectrum within our world (robots in the future, bugs on the ground, or toys come to life over a world with human-like cars).

That said, this new trailer definitely showcases some classic Pixar heart. The story of two sons wanting to spend a day with their late father is sure to tug at the heartstrings. We might have been too quick to judge on Onward.

But at least Soul looks interesting!

Plot Synopsis:

Set in a magical world populated with elves, trolls, mermaids, centaurs, fauns, satyrs, gnomes, sprites, goblins and all other mystical creatures. This world, however, where fairy tale was once the reality, is losing its sense of magic. Its inhabitants use machines such as mobile phones and cars instead of magic. Two teenage elf brothers, Ian and Barley Lightfoot, embark on a quest to discover if there is still magic in the world in order to spend one day with their father, who died when they were too young to remember him.

Onward hits theaters March 6, 2020.
