New ‘Snowpiercer’ Teaser Announces May Premiere Date

TNT has released a new teaser for its upcoming Snowpiercer adaptation. The series is set to star Daveed Diggs and Jennifer Connelly as two passengers aboard the train with very different class backgrounds.

The cover of “Pure Imagination” that plays in the background of this teaser works brilliantly. It gives the whole series an eerie, yet somber vibe. Which it should, considering the 2013 film and the original 1982 French graphic novel were far from delightful.

I actually enjoyed the 2013 film for the most part, and am interested in checking out this TV adaptation.

In addition to Connelly and Diggs, Snowpiercer stars Alison Wright, Mickey Sumner, Susan Park, Iddo Goldberg, Katie McGuinness, Lena Hall, Annalise Basso, Sam Otto, Roberto Urbina, Sheila Vand and Jaylin Fletcher.

Plot Synopsis:

Set more than seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland Snowpiercer centers on the remnants of humanity, who inhabit a 1001 car, perpetually-moving train that circles the globe. Class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival play out in this riveting television adaptation based on the acclaimed movie and graphic novel series of the same name.

Snowpiercer premieres May 31, 2020 on TNT.
