New ‘The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers’ Trailer

Disney+ has released an official trailer for The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers. The upcoming television series acts as a sequel to the original trilogy of films from the 1990s and features the return of star Emilio Estevez.

I haven’t even watched the original Mighty Ducks trilogy and somehow I’m interested in this TV show. Perhaps it’s because I’m a fan of the legacyquel, or maybe I’m just dumb.

Either way, I’m definitely on board with a series showing how absurd minor sports leagues have become. I remember my days playing youth baseball and watching my try-hard teammates cry after losing a game and their parents be disappointed in not winning. Ah, fond memories. Are any of those tri-hards professional MLB players now, you ask? Not a single one. Just play the game and have fun, kids, unless you’ve placed money on the outcome of the game. In that case, you better damn win, I got $50 on ya.

Plot Synopsis:

In the 10-episode season set in present-day Minnesota, the Mighty Ducks have evolved from scrappy underdogs to an ultra-competitive, powerhouse youth hockey team. After 12-year-old Evan Morrow (Brady Noon) is unceremoniously cut from the Ducks, he and his mom, Alex (Lauren Graham), set out to build their own team of misfits to challenge the cutthroat, win-at-all-costs culture of youth sports today.

The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers premieres March 26, 2021 on Disney+.
