Noah Hawley in Talks to Direct Fourth ‘Star Trek’ Film

Yesterday Deadline reported that Noah Hawley was in final talks to write and direct the fourth Star Trek film featuring Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg and Karl Urban.

I was pretty excited to hear this, since I thought Legion was an incredibly well done and weird show. I even thought about him being an interesting pick for Blade Runner 3 down in the comments. Then Sailor told me how bad the reviews were for Lucy in the Sky. That being said I still think he could make a really good Star Trek movie. Hopefully they are dropping the whole idea of George “father of James T.” Kirk (Chris Hemsworth) being the bad guy. I’d really like to get Dan Stevens in this universe and play a really good bad guy. How rad would that be?

Hawley has done great in the TV realm so far but with that first feature film being a bust, it’s good to see them giving him a second chance. Hopefully he can turn it around and make something crazy and unique in this modern Star Trek franchise. He currently is in production on the fourth season of Fargo, starring Chris Rock. I should probably get around to watching that at some point.

I guess that means Quentin Tarantino‘s Star Trek still isn’t going to be a thing, huh?

What do you guys think? Does this feel like a good fit for the Kelvin Timeline Star Trek Universe?
