Jessica Biel in The Better Sister

Jessica Biel is the newest addition to the cast of Searchlight Pictures‘ Playmates.

Biel will play a former Playboy Playmate-turned-wife of Hugh Hefner, per Deadline. The character will be fictitious, as sources state she won’t be modeled off any of Hefner’s three wives, specifically.

As reported last month, Bill Pullman is playing Hefner, with the cast also including Indiana Elle and Lily-Rose Depp. The movie will be the feature directorial debut of Lorraine Nicholson, whose experiences growing up at the Playboy Mansion inspired the feature.

Playmates is an L.A.-set coming-of-age story following 13-year-old know-it-all Elle (Elle), who considers the Playboy Mansion her second home. During her time at the Mansion, Elle meets Anna (Depp), one of seven hopefuls vying to be Playmate of the Month. The two form an unlikely friendship and try to help each other get what the other wants most: a magazine cover and a boy.

Biel is an Emmy and two-time Golden Globe nominee for her work as star and executive producer of USA Network’s The Sinner. She most recently executive produced and starred opposite Elizabeth Banks in Prime Video’s limited series, The Better Sister. She will be seen next opposite John Cena in Matchbox: The Movie, which begins streaming on Apple TV this Friday.
