‘Quantum Leap’ Trailer: Whatever Happened to Dr. Sam Beckett?

NBC has released an official trailer for Quantum Leap, an upcoming reboot and continuation of the beloved early ’90s science-fiction series. Let’s take a look.

I’ve had the complete series DVD boxset of the original Quantum Leap sitting on my shelf for a good five years and I think it might be time to dust it off. If you know me, you know that I love time travel, so Quantum Leap has always been right up my alley. This new one looks like it might be fun, especially if it connects to the original series and reveals whatever happened to Scott Bakula’s Dr. Sam Beckett.

Raymond Lee leads Quantum Leap as physicist Ben Song. The rest of the cast includes Caitlin Bassett as Addison, Ernie Hudson as Herbert “Magic” Williams, Mason Alexander Park as Ian Wright, and Nanrisa Lee as Jenn Chou.

Plot Synopsis:

It’s been nearly 30 years since Dr. Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished. Now, a new team, led by physicist Ben Song (Raymond Lee), has been assembled to restart the project. Everything changes, however, when Ben makes an unauthorized leap into the past, leaving the team behind to solve the mystery of why he did it. At Ben’s side throughout his leaps is Addison (Caitlin Bassett), a decorated Army veteran who appears in the form of a hologram only Ben can see and hear.

Quantum Leap premieres on September 19, 2022 on NBC.
