After making her English-language screen debut in Reacher Season 4, Indonesian singer and actor Agnez Mo has found her next English-language project.
According to Deadline, Mo is set to star in the cyber thriller C.L.A.Y., joining a cast that includes Nicolas Cage, Michael Sheen, Jordi Mollà, Emilio Sakraya, and Adrian Topol.
“Agnez is a true global artist with an audience that spans continents. She is a captivating actress – fearless, intense and full of emotional depth. We are thrilled to welcome her to this extraordinary ensemble. She’s a perfect fit for the world of C.L.A.Y.,” said writer-director Simon Afram.
Production is slated to begin this November in London. It will serve as Afram’s directorial debut after he wrote and produced the upcoming World War II spy film Fortitude, which also stars Cage.
Per the synopsis, C.L.A.Y. follows “a brilliant but socially invisible computer prodigy who finds purpose and belonging when he is drawn into C.L.A.Y. (Clowns Laughing At You), an underground hacker collective whose daring exploits turn digital provocation into real-world consequences. As the group’s notoriety grows, their actions attract the attention of intelligence agencies, criminal syndicates, and rival hackers.”
