Nicolas Cage is Count Dracula in First ‘Renfield’ Trailer

Universal has released an official trailer for Renfield, an upcoming horror action comedy film starring Nicolas Cage as Count Dracula and Nicholas Hoult as his loyal servant, Renfield. Let’s take a look.

Okay, this looks like a lot of fun. I’m loving how this trailer is framed around a support group meeting. I wasn’t expecting much when this film was first announced, but now I think Renfield might be one of my most anticipated films of 2023!

Renfield is directed by Chris McKay from a screenplay by Ryan Ridley, based on an original idea by The Walking Dead and Invincible creator Robert Kirkman. In addition to Cage and Hoult, Renfield stars Awkwafina, Ben Schwartz, and Adrian Martinez.

Plot Synopsis:

In this modern monster tale of Dracula’s loyal servant, Nicholas Hoult stars as Renfield, the tortured aide to history’s most narcissistic boss, Dracula. Renfield is forced to procure his master’s prey and do his every bidding, no matter how debased. But now, after centuries of servitude, Renfield is ready to see if there’s a life outside the shadow of The Prince of Darkness. If only he can figure out how to end his codependency.

Renfield opens in theaters on April 14, 2023.
