‘Shazam’ Sequel Officially Titled ‘Shazam: Fury of the Gods’

So there’s been a lot of good news coming out of DC FanDome today from first looks at The Suicide Squad and The Batman to concept art for Black Adam and The Flash. Well, the day’s not over yet, and the Shazam! revealed that the upcoming sequel is officially titled Shazam: Fury of the Gods.

Returning director David F. Sandberg confirmed the news on his Twitter account:

Honestly I’m a bit bummed it isn’t Shazam!! like the director teased on his Twitter a few days ago. But Fury of the Gods is an interesting subtitle, and like Sandberg himself wonders, why are they upset? I guess we’ll find out in a couple of years when the film hits theaters. Until then, let’s just hope the child actors don’t hit their growth spurts.

Stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, Meagan Good, Faithe Herman, and Adam Brody were all on hand for the Shazam! panel and are expected to return for the sequel.

Shazam: Fury of the Gods hits theaters April 1, 2022.

What do you think of the title for Shazam 2? Do you think the film will end with a tease for a Shazam v Black Adam: Dawn of Marvel film? Tell us in the comments below!
