The CW has released an official season trailer for Superman & Lois. The upcoming series is a spin-off of Supergirl and the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover event from 2019-20. I’ve already watched the trailer, and damn am I excited.
I really like how different this series feels from the other Arrowverse shows like The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow. It feels more done to earth and grounded. Superman and Lois have been fired from the Daily Planet and relocate to raise their teenage sons (they sure grew up quick in two years).
I also like the idea of Clark’s kids not knowing at the beginning that he’s Superman and them not really believing him when he tells them that he is. I haven’t watched a lot of Supergirl (okay, I’ve only seen like three episodes), but I’m 100 per cent on board with this version. The new suit looks great (check it out below), and I’m excited to see a new chapter of Superman’s life on-screen for the first time. I wasn’t always onboard with Tyler Hoechlin‘s portrayal when he first appeared on Supergirl, but it’s clear that he only needed more time to grow into the role.
Superman & Lois debuts Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 8 p.m. on The CW with a 90-minute series premiere. It will be followed by a special, Superman & Lois: Legacy of Hope, at 9:30 p.m.
What do you guys think? Interested in seeing this at all?
