Matt Reeves has set his sights on yet another Marvel star for a key role in his long-awaited The Batman Part II.
According to Deadline, Sebastian Stan is in talks to join the DC Studios sequel in an unknown role. Well, sort of unknown, as insider Jeff Sneider seems to be hinting on X that Stan will be playing Harvey Dent/Two-Face.
Stan is best known for playing Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a role he currently still occupies and will be seen next in later this year in Avengers: Doomsday. While not unusual for actors to jump between DC and Marvel, it’s not often that they do it while still a major part of the franchise.
The Deadline report also states that Scarlett Johansson will indeed star in The Batman Part II, with whom she will be playing also under wraps. Robert Pattinson will be back as Bruce Wayne/Batman, with Colin Farrell, Jeffrey Wright, and Andy Serkis also returning as Penguin, James Gordon, and Alfred Pennyworth. Barry Keoghan is also expected to appear once more as the Joker.
The Batman Part II is slated to begin production in the spring, ahead of its theatrical release on October 1, 2027.
