‘The Crown’ Season 5 Trailer: It’s a New Decade for the Queen

Netflix has released an official trailer for The Crown Season 5, starring Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II. Let’s take a look.

I stopped watching The Crown between Seasons 2 and 3, but I’ve been meaning to get back into watching the series. It’s extremely enjoyable and well-acted and we have it to thank for giving us the great Vanessa Kirby.

Season 5 will once again recast the core characters with Staunton now portraying Queen Elizabeth II, taking over the role formerly played by Claire Foy (Seasons 1 and 2) and Olivia Colman (Seasons 3 and 4). Joining Staunton is Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh; Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon; Jonny Lee Miller as Prime Minister John Major; Flora Montgomery as Norma Major; Dominic West as Charles, Prince of Wales; and Elizabeth Debicki as Diana, Princess of Wales.

Plot Synopsis:

It’s a new decade, and the royal family are facing what may be their biggest challenge yet: proving their continued relevance in ‘90s Britain. As Diana and Charles wage a media war, cracks begin to splinter the royal foundation.

The fifth season of The Crown begins streaming on November 9, 2022 on Netflix.
